I am lucky to have a natural artistic ability (so I'm told) and have worked in the full range of art mediums, with speciality in oils and acrylics. I got started painting in oils at the age of ten. I learned by observation and doing by trying, so visualisation became a recognised skill that has been part of every aspect of my career.

With a wholistic view of all art, I have worked in all disciplines from design, graphics and printing, illustration, sculpture and even cartoons. I have a vision for detail, composition, colour and action that I use to capture the moment or illustrate a situation.

Having been raised in Zambia, in the heart of Africa, I have been fortunate enough to have traveled all its range, from Capetown in South Africa to Cairo in the North, and East to West from Mozambique to The Gambia. I have experienced Temperate to Savannah and Jungle to Desert landscapes.

I developed a passion for wildlife and the natural environments we live in. So it was probably inevitable for me to have started out as a game keeper in parks where I handled Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and largest of all - the Siberian and Bengal Tigers of Asia. The big cats have therefore always been a favourite of mine. When you have experience animals and nature from that close proximity, you appreciate how every species has evolved to be uniquely adapted to its environment, and how every environment has come to exist. Not many artists can say they have handled the animals that they choose to paint, but that has been a special privilege of my art.

I've been lucky in life to have experienced and lived beside these amazing species in their natural environment. But, within the space of a lifetime, humans have driven these majestic creatures out of their environment, and still continue to hunt them down as trophies for their pleasure.

My paintings have for the most part been gifted to special occasions, as far and wide as the US and Middle East, and I have kept just a few. Now I have agreed to make my paintings more widely available in a release of Limited Edition Giclee Prints. I have chosen to do this because it guarantees a limited distribution, providing collectible originality to no more than two hundred patrons worldwide.

Unlike some general or fashion wall art, these prints will always draw your eye, and evoke thoughts about the subject and composition.

Each print is essentially an ambassador for the subject, the issue and the charitable causes working on its behalf. I provide a commentary history of each painting, providing detail and talking point about the subject matter, e.g.

In the first release "Cheetah at Full Stride", I have chosen to capture the moment of its stride when all four paws are off the ground at the same time.

It spend over half it's running time with all four paws off the ground, minimising friction and almost flying in pursuit of its prey. Together with it's flexible hips, uncoupled shoulders and long vertebrae that can flex both ways, the Cheetah achieves a stride length of 25 feet, all combining to make it the fastest land animal capable of 65 - 75 mph. It's blunt, semi retractable claws act as running spikes and it's proportionally larger tale acts as a balance rudder to turn sharply at speed.

Investing in a Limited Edition is an investment in both the collectable art, the subject and the cause.

  • Authenticity and limited distribution is guaranteed by Certificate of Authenticity and original signature.
  • It provides an aesthetic and thought provoking conversation piece, while also educating through appreciation of the subject and current issues.
  • It supports the charities acting to save and care for the subject.

Each sale is inclusive of all production, packing and regular shipping costs.

Minimum 5% of gross sales per edition are donated to chosen charities leading the cause for the subject, e.g. WWF, Cheetah Conservation Fund.

(This provides a bigger guaranteed donation fund than percentage of profit or individual donation, at the level of "guardian" fundraising).

On sale of the complete Limited Edition number, a bonus donation is added.
